Status Update 2/7/25: “Until yesterday, I was the only one of my breed here at the Neighborly farm. Five new baby Barred Rock chicks just became my roommates. But no joke, they all think I’m their mother and they chase me. Terrifying.”

I’m a Welsummer hen and low-key, I’m at the top of the pecking order around here! I lay 150-200 large brown and often speckled eggs/year. I’m friendly, active, intelligent.

Status Update 2/7/25: “A raccoon tried to break into the coop last night but we caught him! Well technically, farmer River did. We are going to release the raccoon far from here so we are safe. Peace!”

I’m a Salmon Faverolle hen! I lay 180-240 light brown to pinkish eggs/year. People describe me as gentle, docile, friendly.

Status Update 2/7/25: "Another beautiful day of scratching, clucking, and keeping my flock in line! I take my role as the official bug inspector very seriously—no worm goes unturned on my watch. If you need me, I’ll be sunbathing and pretending I’m royalty."

I’m a French Black Copper Maran. I lay around 150-200 medium-size dark brown eggs each year. Word on the farm is that I’m known to be calm, friendly, curious.

Status Update 2/7/25: "Farmer River says the eggs belong in the laying boxes, but I think a scavenger hunt makes mornings more fun. I left today's masterpiece somewhere creative—let’s see if he can find it! Bonus points if he doesn’t step on it!"
