Christ Classical Academy’s 2025 House League Service Project
Saturday, October 18 from 2-4pm at South Campus
Student to Student Field Day
This year, our school is partnering with Neighborly, a ministry that helps refugee families from The Congo, Syria & Afghanistan build a new life here in Tallahassee. Together with the House Leagues, we’re hosting a special Field Day—an afternoon filled with games, crafts, and activities where our students and refugee children can play side by side.
For refugee families, settling into a new community often comes with challenges—new language, new culture, and the weight of starting over. Events like CCA’s Field Day gives children who’ve experienced war, persecution and trauma the chance to experience the simple joy of play, while forming friendships that remind them they belong here. For our students, it’s a powerful opportunity to practice compassion, break down barriers, evangelize, and be a good neighbor.
Through laughter, teamwork, and shared experiences, this project creates space where kids from different backgrounds can connect—not as strangers, but as friends.
What will this look like?
First, our student leaders will come early to set up the tables & prepare the field with various exercises and games. At 2 pm, CCA families and refugee families will arrive and children can pick which activities and sports they’d like to play. Parents can help referee, lead an art project, or just sit and chat with refugee mothers and fathers. We will have a food table and volunteers to help translate if need be. Think of it as a multi-cultural family fun day that focuses on Christian hospitality.
